3,870,000 yen contributed through Chinese Taipei Match Charity Auction

The Japan Baseball Management Committee (Nippon Professional Baseball Organization, General Incorporated Association, and the Baseball Federation of Japan, General Incorporated Foundation) contributed 3,874,375 yen to the Japan Red Cross Society through a signed uniform charity auction at the Chinese Taipei game in February.

This auction was held thanks to the cooperation of Rakuten Auction, Inc. from February 6 - 16, 2014. On display were a total of 36 uniforms worn by Manager Hiroki Kokubo, the coaches and the players which were personally signed at the warm up game between Chinese Taipei and Samurai Japan in November 2013.

From the total of successful bids(4,106,723 yen)expenses were deducted and the remaining total(3,874,375 yen)was donated to the Japan Red Cross Society for people who suffered from Typhoon Haiyan(Typhoon no. 30)which occurred in November 2013. It will be used to support the relief and reconstruction efforts by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Philippine Red Cross.
